About Us

A child is a person who is going to carry on what you have started. He is going to sit where you are sitting and when you are gone, attend to those things which you think are important. You may adopt all the policies you please, but how they are carried out depends on him. He will assume control of your cities, your states and your nation. He is going to move in and take over your churches, your schools, your universities and your corporations. All your books are going to be judged, praised or condemned by him. The fate of humanity is in his hands.

About Us

Although Destiny’s Door, a 501(c)3 charity, started as a one-time mission for a local church family to provide needed supplies to 24 teen parents attending New Caney High School, Destiny’s Door learned that these teens needed much more than just baby supplies. It is our strong belief that the best way to help these children is to help make strong, independent, and responsible parents. To do this they needed love, hope, training, and guidance to be the best parents possible for their children.

Two and a half years ago Destiny’s Door was awarded a grant from the United States Department of Labor as a sub-grantee of the Latino Coalition for Faith and Community Initiatives. This is a California based organization that sought out reputable Texas organizations working with teens in crisis to join in with a nationwide coalition of organizations. While all of these organizations are dedicated to reaching teens that are at risk of becoming adjudicated adults, Destiny’s Door is the only organization that works with parenting teens to be chosen. During this grant period, Destiny’s Door has been able to move from a grass roots level to a level of accountability recognized on a nationwide basis not just because of the financial assistance, but also the intense training we received. Organizations and school districts from all over the Houston metropolitan area have realized that we at Destiny’s Door have a unique outreach that is not generally offered in our community and have therefore invited us into their domain. It is our purpose and mission to accomplish this goal and to meet these needs.

We have grown from that first Baby Shower to our current services for pregnant and parenting teens in New Caney, Aldine, Humble, Kingwood, Splendora, Huffman, and Houston, providing prenatal and parenting classes, practical day-to-day family living skills, assistance with critical child safety items such as cribs and car seats, along with other basic needs for these teens and their children.

Please help us continue these unique services by making a donation. Your help is critically needed to bridge the gap as we seek new grant funding.
