Welcome to Destiny's Door

Destiny’s Door found its beginnings in 2002. It was founded on the desire to reach out to parenting youths who were struggling to complete their education while coping with the expense and responsibility of raising a child.

In the beginning, help was given in very practical ways with items such as diapers, formula, clothing, baby furniture, car seats and other items that any parent would need for the day to day care of a child. Soon it became clear that these young parents need so much more than just material support for their everyday needs. They need a support system offering encouragement, compassion, understanding, and the inspiration to succeed in life.

We began to see the need to help them develop self-discipline and the discretion to think issues and behaviors through before they act. We saw they need encouragement to look a few years down the road in life and figure out where they want to be. They need to be taught how to dream about their future, set goals to achieve those dreams, and pursue their destiny in life with a passion.

Through education, mentoring and learning parenting skills they can become empowered and enabled to break the cycle of teen pregnancy, welfare dependency, and unsuccessful and unsafe relationships. Working with young parents, as they raise their children, we help this generation as well as the next.
